Announcements

New Pricing & Policies (Hosting, Domain Registration)

In order to remain a profitable and respectable company Daedalus Teks will be applying changes to our pricing structure.

S.L.A's (Service Level Agreements)

  • Our yearly increase across the board for all SLA client's. The assigned Daedalus tek will send you the revised SLA shortly. If you have any questions please contact your assigned technician. So we can ensure each client has a reasonable cost effective fee for SLA's, Daedalus will be applying a per location fee.
New Services Included with SLA's (If these do not occur contact your assigned Daedalus Tek immediately).

  1. An assigned Daedalus Technician will check on you or each business location Daily by; e-mail, phone, text or via Teamviewer request.
  2. A Daedalus Technician will contact you no later than January 8th to schedule visits each location twice a month, or upon the assigned Business Managers request.
  3. A Daedalus Technician will provide a log for employee's/users to log issues or errors for technicians to review onsite upon each visit to address.
  4. A Daedalus Technician will provide a log book w/ passwords and credentials for anything IT related to Business Managers to Duplicate and distribute upon themselves to their employees or managers.
  5. Daedalus Teks will review and ensure we are the technical contact for any; ISP, Security and 3rd Party Software Companies (Quickbooks, Biotrack, OnRAD and Etc.)

Domains, E-mail Services, Hosting & Websites

  • Daedalus Teks will also start charging as any other hosting/web design company would for services. Daedalus Teks for the past 10 Years has not been charging its client's for services normally invoiced by other competing companies such as; Godaddy, Bluehost, Fatcow and etc.
  • In short; Daedalus Teks has been paying for Domain registrations, hosting and etc for its clients.
  • Domains that have been paid by Daedalus, that are not paid by client once invoiced will be forfeited to Daedalus Teks.
  • Several of individuals have not paid their domain registration or hosting in several years, please pay your invoices promptly as you receive them.

Daedalus Teks will start charging for these services listed below:

  1. Monthly; Email, File, Server and Website Hosting.

  2. Yearly Domain Registration.

  3. E-mail Accounts requiring more than 500MB Email Space.

  4. Website Services, Maintenance and Backups.

  5. E-mail Storage Exceeding 500MB's (Standard space given across all hosts).

  6. SSL's (Secure Site Link certificates).


Client's will also be responsible for their own; Maintenance, E-Mail Storage, Website Edits/Maintenance and Updates. These services can be provided for an additional fee under a Website Maintenance Agreement. (More information about Website Maintenance Agreement Below)

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ME? (THE CLIENT)

All we are asking is that you continue service with us and pay from today on out the monthly hosting fees and yearly registration, as you would with; GoDaddy, Bluehost, Fatcow, Hostgator or any other host. We wouldn't charge the previous amount Daedalus teks has invested into your business.

If anyone would like to move their domains to another host we can provide your domains, websites, files and emails after reimbursing Daedalus Teks the investment we have put into each of your businesses. 

For several dozen of you that's 8 years of us generously taking the cost, of a yearly fee of
$224.86 per website over 8 Years. With about 70 client websites we have been doing this for that's a whopping $125,921.60! The yearly domain registration alone for 70 domains over 8 years is about $8,400.00 with each registration renewal at $14.99. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE NEW CHARGES APPLIED BY DOMAIN REGISTRARS AS OF JAN, 2020.


This means that starting Monday, January 4th 2021 any individual on a Daedalus Teks server will have to pay:

  1. Pay a Monthly or Yearly Hosting Fee for their website (Standard on all website hosts).
  2. Pay a Yearly Domain Registration Fee for their website (Standard on all website hosts/like car registration).
  3. Pay for Email Accounts (Per Email Account/Storage Space).
  4. Pay for SSL (This ensures your website is secure).

MOVING FORWARD WHAT WILL DAEDALUS PROVIDE:
We want all our clients to grow and prosper. So in order to ensure your continued success we are willing to provide free services listed below if you continue with Daedalus teks:

Daedalus Teks initially provided the following items when creating your websites and is willing to provide them again:

  1. Domain Control Panel URL's and Credentials w/ login sheets.
  2. Password reset for domain assigned emails w/ login sheets. (Does not include device setup)
  3. Analytics credentials (Determine's "Demographics" of website visitors.)

Daedalus Teks will also provide the following free services 30 days after continuing with hosting and domain renewal:
  1. 1 Hour Website Edits/Updates. Does not include Core updates; graphic design, logo design or complete website re-design.
  2. Meta Data revision and re-vamp for entire site to ensure visibility on Google, Bing, Yahoo and etc.
  3. 1 Hour website consultation. (Over phone or email)
  4. 30 Min Tutorial on Control Panel.

WILL I LOSE ANYTHING?

For many of our clients, no. We have already done our server health checks and determined that some if not all of our clients are barely using the space we allocated for you initially. Some our larger clients with Businesses that handle hundreds of emails daily will need to upgrade their email storage to begin with, or can integrate our Microsoft Exchange Services which will Exponentially increase their email storage. More information about Microsoft Exchange Services available below.


In the case anyone does not want to continue with our hosting services, does not re-imburse Daedalus Teks for what we have invested over the course of the domain in question than all data will be scrubbed from our servers and no information, web design or backups will be provided.

Onsite Policy

1.   All On-Site repairs or configuration are guaranteed for 14 days.  Issues not related to prior visit will be considered a new problem and subject to On-Site repair & consultation charges.  There will be a $45 trip fee if problem is reported as related to prior visit and our consultants determine/demonstrate issue is unrelated to prior work. If a Daedalus Tek determines that issues have occurred due to user action, onsite hourly rate's will be charged.

Repair Policies

1.   A $35 diagnostic charge will be applied for any repair completed within 30 min or less of commencing service on the system in question. The diagnostic charge also applies to any other issue determined by a Daedalus technician. Daedalus Teks will repair or correct any computer problem at a rate of $45 an hour (see posted pricing online for services).  If Labor is performed the diagnostic charge is waived.

2. Daedalus Teks is only responsible for the functionality of peripheral devices that Daedalus Teks was contracted to configure. (printer, scanner, serial attached component, network attached storage, etc).

3.   Daedalus Teks does not assume responsibility for prior damages, software and hardware errors or failures.

4.   Any item(s) left at Daedalus Teks over 14 days, after service has been completed and client has been notified becomes the sole property of Daedalus Teks (unless prior arrangements have been made with a Daedalus I.T. Project manager).  Items left over 7 days after client has been notified system is ready for pickup/drop off are subject to storage fee of 10% per day.

5.   Daedalus Teks guarantees labor on repair for 30 days. Any problems occurring within that 30 day period not related to prior repair will be considered a new problem and subject to diagnostic and labor charges. If a Daedalus Tek determines that an issue occurred due to user action, it will be considered a new problem and subject to diagnostic and labor charges.

6.  Any Special order component requires payment in full upfront. Any service related to special components can be paid when service has been completed. 

System Upgrade Policy

1.   For Daedalus Teks to install Microsoft Operating System, or any other licensed software, the customer must:

A. Provide an authentic; Product Key, Product CD OR Purchase the Product from Daedalus Teks. Daedalus Teks in no way condones, approves or assists with pirated software or violation of EULA Agreements.

2.   Daedalus Teks is not responsible for improperly installed hardware or software performed by the end-user or a 3rd party/competitor after the upgrade.

3.   Some older components may not be compatible with new hardware configurations.  Daedalus Teks will notify the customer if this occurs and provide recommendations to overcome the problem in a cost/time effective manner.

4.   Known Microsoft Operating System; bugs, defects, fixes and other issues caused by 3rd party hardware/software are not covered by the Daedalus Teks warranty. However Daedalus Teks’s technical Department will research the problem and provide a resolution for a fee.

Complete System Warranty

1.   ONE (1) YEAR MANUFACTURER WARRANTY honored by Daedalus Teks.  Onsite Pick-Up Only.

2.   Complete Computer Systems have 30 DAY ICARUS SWAP Warranty on all hardware found to be defective by the Daedalus Teks Technical Department (valid only for failure due to manufacturer defects).

3.   Software configuration has 14 day warranty.

4.   After THIRTY (30) days the customer has the following options for replacing failed hardware due to manufacturer defect.

A. Failed unit may be sent to the hardware manufacturer for replacement.  Manufacturer makes final determination as to the cause of failure and replacement eligibility.  Upon return, Daedalus Teks will install the hardware and its supporting or related software at no additional labor charge.  This process may take up to 8 weeks to complete, considering shipping methods.

B. Customer may opt to utilize Daedalus Teks’s ICARUS PARTS REPLACEMENT Strategy.  Products that do not appear to have failed due to user negligence or misuse may be credited by Daedalus Teks at a pro-rated amount equal to the number of months (1/12th current retail price per month) within the one (1) year warranty that the component(s) did NOT function. This credit may then be applied towards a similar or upgraded replacement component.

C. If Customer has purchased 1 YEAR ICARUS SWAP Warranty (25% of total system price); the unit will be immediately replaced with equivalent value component at no charge.

5.  A minimum $25 Diagnostic charge is applicable if hardware is found not to be defective.

6. Tampering with equipment (such as replacing or removing RAM, CPU, PCI/AGP cards, Hard drive etc.) Will VOID your warranty, Only an approved Daedalus Technician can; open, replace or tamper with the system in question.

7.  On-Site support, telephone consultation or component delivery is available from Daedalus Teks at our current onsite service rate displayed online.

8.  Customer has the option to purchase Daedalus Teks’s 1 YEAR ICARUS REPLACEMENT WARRANTY within 30 days of system purchase. Please see technician for details.

New Computer Policy

1.   A COMPLETE NEW Daedalus Teks COMPUTER SYSTEM consists of and includes the following:

Content’s of computer case which a fully functional computer is composed of includes at a minimum: Hard Drive, Motherboard, CPU/Processor, Random Access Memory, Video Card (if not integrated on Motherboard) and Operating System. All components will be assembled by Daedalus Teks and Operating System will be installed as well.

2.   Complete systems may be returned for refund within first 14 days of purchase. System hardware must not be damaged and must be in resellable condition. Refund for purchase will be provided minus labor charges for assembly ($65 for pre-packaged systems), Operating System cost will also be deducted from return along with any other software. (Operating System’s and Software cannot be returned according to EULA Agreements) A 20% restock fee on items returned will also be deducted from total return cost.

Component - retail sales policy

ALL RETURNS, WARRANTIES & EXCHANGES REQUIRE ORIGINAL RECEIPT

1.     CPU, Software and Special-Order sales are Final. Retail CPUs carry 14 day Daedalus Teks warranty which can only be replaced once and 3 year manufacturer warranty. Warranty excludes ‘Physical Damage’ (cracks, broken/bent pins) & ‘Misuse’ (over clocked, burned) CPUs.

2.     Hardware purchase(s) may be returned for refund or exchange within first 14 days of purchase (5 days for Random Access Memory) if product is undamaged and appears unused. Refunds subject to 20% restock fee if product is in new-resellable condition (undamaged, complete & appears unused). Refunds subject to 35% restock fee if returned in non-resellable condition. All products must be returned with; hardware, accessories, original invoice and the component will be tested by a Daedalus Teks Technician to be eligible for refund or exchange. Final determination of return eligibility is at Daedalus Teks’s discretion.

3.     There is 30 day warranty on all other items. After the 30 day period, warranty is carried by product manufacturer. Warranties are void for any product; damaged by abuse, improper handling or installation.  All Warranties are valid only for product failure due to manufacturer defect.

4.     Used Product sales are Final with 7 days warranty.

5.     All laptops & laptop accessory sales are Final (This exclude’s but is not limited to PCMCIA cards, external enclosures & memory chips). These items are eligible for exchange only, no refunds.

Invoice Payment Policy

Greetings Client's,

Thank you for taking the time to read this announcement. It has come to our attention that many of our technicians are not collecting for services rendered upon completion of service. This announcement is being posted to remind everyone that payment is due upon receipt/completion of service. Under no circumstances are our technician's allowed arrange payment at a later time.

If failure of payment for services occurs:

  1. The assigned technician will keep the system in question for service until the invoice is paid.
  2. Technician will revert any changes that rectified any issues with the system in question. 
  3. Unpaid invoice's for services provided to a company are subject to a 15% late fee each day the invoice is not addressed or $35.00 Late fee per invoice that is late.
  4. If an invoice is not settled within a 14 day period, the system in question will be recycled immediately and disposed of. This pertains to systems in technicians care. If an invoice is not settled within 14 days of service of an onsite, technician will revert any changes and pick up the system in question if needed until the invoice is settled.
  5. If an invoice is not addressed in a timely manner on several occasions, client will be placed on Daedalus Teks black list. This list will be displayed on Daedalus Tek's site to ensure service is not performed for the individual/company in question. Affiliate I.T. companies will also have access to this list. 

Please keep in mind that our firm consists of technicians and only technicians. There is no "head boss", each Technician answers to each other. There are also firm partners which have meetings to discuss our agenda. This allows us to provide I.T. service at a minimal cost and in a timely manner. How? Well our technicians don't have to be; constantly answering phones, cleaning a store front or constantly calling individuals to settle an invoice. In turn we expect our clients to treat our Firm as they would any other computer store. All of our experienced technicians have been employed with major I.T. competitors and are aware that no I.T. company would ever accept payment at a later time. It should be self evident for clients as well, this is the case for all I.T. support companies.

Under no circumstance should this be occurring. Daedalus Teks would also like to address that we do not offer NET10 or any other payment options. If needed Daedalus Teks can set up a payment system with a Credit Card authorization form to ensure payment on time. Daedalus apologizes for this announcement if it seems rude but due to the amount of times this has occurred with several companies/clients/technicians (not just one) we have decided to address this publicly and bring it to everyone's attention. If a technician was allowing you to process payment for an invoice at a later time, this will no longer be an option. All invoices state that payment for service is due upon completion or delivery of receipt. Our technicians shouldn't have to constantly hassle individuals to settle an invoice.

Although this policy has also been in effect, Daedalus Teks will enforce without prejudice starting 1/15/2014. This information will also be added to all invoices as well to ensure all client's are aware of this.
